It’s Your Right: Hep C Testing

It’s Your Right is a campaign aimed at amplifying the message that hepatitis C is easily treatable and that you do not have to change your lifestyle to receive the care you need. Whether you use drugs, drink alcohol, or have been treated before, It’s your right to have access to the care available to you without shame or stigma.

During the campaign, if you get a free hep C test in our Turner office you will receive a goodie bag!

It is a small token filled with useful items, aimed at making the testing experience a little brighter (running until 30 April 2026).

We are proud to support It’s Your Right 2.0, the second iteration of the campaign, this year led by our friends at CAHMA (Canberra Alliance for Harm Minimisation & Advocacy).

Why this matters
Hepatitis C is now easier than ever to treat, with simple daily pills over 8–12 weeks that clear the virus in most people. Yet many in our community don’t know this, or feel nervous about testing. Campaigns like It’s Your Right break down these barriers by amplifying clear information, providing peer support, accessible testing options, referrals and treatment pathways.

How we’re supporting Canberrans

  • Free goodie bags with every hepatitis C test at our Turner office.
  • Friendly, non-judgmental testing environment, with guidance from our team on next steps.
  • Raising awareness about treatment options and connecting people to care quickly.
  • Amplifying the work of CAHMA, a peer-led organisation that shares our commitment to supporting people at risk of hepatitis C.

By supporting this campaign, we are helping Canberra stay healthy, informed, and empowered to take control of their health.
